Description:
[A] custom made guitar neck will greatly improve the performance and tonality of any suitable guitar body. Here is an opportunity to make a guitar neck of the highest caliber and quality in a fully equipped workshop with the guidance of an expert. Kit
The neck will have a non adjustable steel truss-rod similar to pre-1980 Martin guitars, which are superior in tonality, longevity and stability. It will bolt on to most existing commercial guitar bodies with a 25 1/2" scale length. Students will fabricate a maple neck with a fret-board of either rosewood or ebony.Stock vintage style nickel hardware, materials and a special hand stitched rasp tool is included for the student to keep.
If you are interested in different hardware options, please call us for a revision of your options, which we accommodate given a at least 2 weeks lead time.
Please note: This workshop is structured to teach each essential phase of this project. However students will work at their own pace and may require additional time outside of this workshop to complete their project.

Ian Schneller has been designing and building unique custom stringed instruments, guitars and tube amplifiers since 1986. He has built custom guitars and unique hi-fidelity horn speakers for customers worldwide. His custom guitars include a number of commissions from collectors and renown musicians. His tube amplifiers and unique audio horn speakers have been exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and at ICA Boston.
