Description: [T]his seminar focuses on tube theory (with some very basic math) to determine wattage, tube parameters, and to get the most out of diagnostic equipment when dealing with tube circuits. The students will learn to use an oscilloscope in conjunction with a signal generator. They will also learn to use decibel meters, frequency counters, and modify tone. Fine details of sound will be demonstrated, explained and discussed. Modifications, advanced implementation of effects systems, and pro audio interfacing will round out the curriculum. Topics

Ian Schneller Ian is the founder and chief instructor of the Chicago School of Guitar Making. Ian teaches Design & Theory + Blueprint Course, Setup & Maintenance for Guitar and Bass, Electric Guitar Building, Tube Amp Building and Champ Tube Amp Building. He is also a faculty member of the Sculpture Department at the School of the Art Institute and owner of Specimen Products.
